Hi, my name is Bonnie Champion and I am honored to be your fourth grade teacher this year. I'm a simple kind of girl with lots of passion for teaching, my three children, Michael, Jeni and Lauren, and of course my sweetheart, Craig. Some of my favorite hobbies outside of school are reading, water skiing and working at our camp up in Big Bear. My favorite sport is baseball and those boys in blue...the Dodgers... are my team. I've been a real Dodger fan ever since I was a little girl. So, if you don't see me at Y. B. I'll most likely be at a Dodger game or in Big Bear.

Hi! My name is Karen Denove and I am teaching First Grade at Yerba Buena. I made the change from Kindergarten to First Grade last year and I love it! I have been teaching 23 years, but I started teaching when I was 3 years old (ha,ha!). I love animals, I love nature and I love working with children. I am looking forward to a fun and productive year with you and your child

My name is Sandy Fleishman and I am proud to be a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Yerba Buena Elementary. I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to California to attend graduate school at USC. I spent the first few years of my teaching career in Redondo Beach, California and have been with LVUSD for the past 23 years. My family consists of my husband, son, and golden retriever, Maggie. I feel very fortunate to spend my days at a school where creativity,team work, and excellence are stressed on a regular basis. Go Bobcats!

I absolutely love teaching! Throughout my career, I've had the joy and honor to teach kindergarten through eighth grade. When I'm not at our fabulous Yerba Buena, I'm at home puttering in my garden or taking long walks with my wonderful and supportive husband, John and our highly energetic Golden Retriever, Jake. All three of us are music aficionados, especially jazz. Paws down...my favorite moments are those spent with my 'boys!'

If you combine kids, pizza, math, crafts, and jazz music, you'd find me. I am affectionately called Mrs. 'Pizza' Stagg because I love pizza and try to incorporate it into the curriculum whenever possible. I have taught grades 1-5 at Willow for 19 years. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York. I have been married to the same wonderful man for almost 32 years. I have two sons, 26-year old Ashley, a YB alumnus, and 21-year old Matthew, a Willow graduate. I can't wait to get to know you all better. Love, Mrs. 'Pizza' Stagg

Welcome! One of my greatest pleasures in life is teaching here at Yerba Buena, where I have taught first and third grades for the past 15 years. Currently, I live with my wonderful and supportive husband, Mark, and our 5 y.o. puppy, Tito. Our son, Nathaniel, is a Post Doctoral Fellow at CalTech, and he lives in Long Beach with his wife, Ekaterina. Our daughter, Valerie, is a classically trained pianist who lives in Century City. I am looking forward to another wonderful year here at Y.B., the best school ever!

Hello and welcome to the 2010-2011-school year. I grew up not to far from here in Ventura. I went Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo and began my teaching career up there. This will be my tenth year teaching!! I began teaching in 2005 and feel very fortunate to be connected to all the wonderful staff, students, and families here. I look forward to meeting and teaching our newest students.....KINDERGARTEN!!!
